The Colors of Fall – II September 16, 2007
Ok, I can’t keep my hands away from this blog and cannot but help share the information I found..
Fall is my favorite season when it comes to dressing up as there is so much to experiment with and especially this year .. when there are lesser rules and more fun with colors.
For Fall, the next colors in line are
Shale Green & Gray- ( more on a murkier side) is a new gray this season and most of the designers used this color liberally for Fall 2007.
Gray The color gray was every where on the Fall 2007 runway . Be it shoes, bags , jackets , pants or shirts..
Dusk & Purple - Purple is the color of wealth and extravaganza. A deep eggplant purple with neutral tans or beige is a conservative color combination. Green and purple can be a striking combination in deep or bright jewel tones or use lighter shades for a cheerful, spring like feel. Pink and purple has feminine appeal.
Green Moss & Lemon Curry
Lemon Curry is again a season’s favorite and was visible on Spring -Summer 2008 runway.My favorite combination with yellow this season is with turquoise or stargazer from the palette.
Cashmere Rose & Purple Wine – Women’s’ favorite – be it any season.Shades of pink get sophisticated when combined with black or gray or medium to darker shades of blue. Medium to dark green with pink is also a sharp-looking combo.

The Colors of Fall….
When it comes to colors, everyone has their personal favorites. And these colors, for that particular person, become evergreen…In addition there are colors that come and go with theseasons and the fashions.. Every year textile and color pundits predict color, fabric & fashion trends to welcome and inspire people towards change ..
On the left is a picture that depicts the color trends for fall 2007 Men & Women. Some of the shades of these colors like the ‘Burnt Ochre’ – second from the top, ‘Chili Pepper’- third from the top, ‘Stargazer’ – fourth from the top, ‘Lemon Curry’ – eighth from the top & ‘Purple Wine ‘ –last in the picture are visible on the runway for spring 2008 as well.
So if you are picking up a piece (besides jackets, which are obviously winter wear) for fall this season make sure you pick from these colors as they can be used in summer as well!
Season’s hot pick and color of the year is ‘Chili Pepper’ – the color of strength, health & passion.
In India, the color red signifies purity, mostly used in weddings & in China red symbolizes celebration and luck, used in many cultural ceremonies that range from funerals to weddings and at the start of every Chinese lunar year.
Red draws attention and a keen use of red as an accent can immediately focus attention on a particular element. A perfect color for accessories like scarves, handbags or jackets.
Fall Color also not to be missed this season is Smokey Gray. A color which was widely used by designers for Fall 2007.
Some key looks and my favorites from the runway of fall 2007 where these colors were used are -
Carafe – An alternative to black or charcoal
Burnt Ochre - New Orange for Fall 2007
Chili Pepper - Dark , deep & intense – my favorite**
Stargazer - Another color from fall which is my favorite is stargazer.. looks really good on dusky people (tried & tested)
Phew…! I am seeing stars now.. took me more than 8 hours to put this blog together & I can’t go on…So let me name this blog Part I and in few hours I will be back with part II of ‘The Colors of Fall’.

Bootie Calls!!
I ran a poll about shoes on my face book group called WhatsBuzzing. I asked group members to choose between booties and Knee length boots… And…. Booties WON!!!
Also backing that win, in a research conducted last year, heels were the world’s number one Fetish & I am pretty sure that if I had another poll comparing boots /shoes with any other article, boots would have still won!
It is interesting to note that once again, this boots trend is a revival of sorts, as often happens in the fashion world.. Boots were exceedingly popular during the World War I. These were usually cloth topped and front laced. Feathers,
rosettes, fur, velvet ribbons, lace and embroidery were all used to add interest below the ankles.
So the new trend in shoes for fall dates back to 20th century and also matches the recent lure for heels..

Booties go very well with wide leg trousers & mini dresses. A classic style is to wear them with tights and a short tunic dress. Contrast tights will really look nice with booties!!

Abercrombie has been a destination for me and my friends from the days that we were not even living in US. Every time we visited US, as tourists, we would go to Abercrombie…
And they are still a popular destination.. I was browsing the website yesterday and found these pieces really appealing.. I ended up buying some stuff for hubby and few pieces for me..

Shirts – Will look very nice when worn with khakis. Though be sure to pick the “right size” as these shirts will look good if the they fit nicely around your chest but not if they hang too loose..

Handbags for fall.… August 19, 2007
Two things I can’t do without is a good jacket and a very sexy handbag!! Once I have those, My life is set… 
When I didn’t have a baby or a hubby or a boyfriend (
yeah whatever) I used to carry small bags with just ‘MY’ Cell phone, ‘MY’ wallet, ‘MY’ sunglasses .. all, ‘MY’ stuff basically. Then came my boyfriend (now husband) with only two small pockets in his jeans and made me carry his sunglasses, keys etc… ( my handbag’s belly use to bulge like a hippopotamus’s belly) And finally came my son ( one only so far) who makes me carry a separate ‘diaper bag’. (please note I bought a big handbag!! It’s against my principles to carry those big Mickey mouse patterned poo poo bags)…
Anyways thank God big bags are not out of fashion and I hope they stay for 5 more years at least!! ( we are planning to have our second baby soon)
SO in my quest to find some orgasmic handbags I came across these… Appropriately titled … : O
Credit card dent makers
Gold is big this season for apparel & accessories. & so is purple.. a colour of luxury and comfort!! Big is still in and small clutches for evening with studs and lots of glitters..
Ooohhh don’t be fooled by these shapes, I am still writing about credit card dent makers…

SOLE SEARCHING…
My best friend is crazy about shoes & scarves and I about clothes & handbags. We complement each other so much when we go shopping. Last week, she ended up buying 9 NINE pair of shoes (all flats) . A solid dent on our credit cards and our wallets ( I ended up spending a grand on clothing!!)
But!! But it was worth it…

Here come my picks for pants , skirts & jackets… We women have the best of both worlds when it comes to dressing and otherwise as well. 
We can wear skirts and look pretty, and get a serious look by power dressing.Here are some style tips, which I think will help to get the right look . Slim fit & Capri’s are the two things which come to my mind first .
Try not to wear cuffed pants as they tend to shorten the length of your legs.
Team up some nice collared shirts & scarves with Capri’s when trying for a professional look .
